[aprssig] Kenwood TM-D710 Proportional Pathing and Weather

I'm helping my son set up a weather station with a Peet Bros.
Ultimeter and a Kenwood TM-D710 but it doesn't seem to support
proportional pathing for weather reporting.  I was hoping that he'd be
able to set it up that way to get high resolution locally, yet still
get packets ocationally when we are out of the immediate area.

Is it possible to get te TM-D710 to use proportional pathing from the
weather station?
