I just listened to the ham radio work bench podcast on the amsat 4b
project.
http://hamradio360.com/index.php/2018/01/01/ham-radio-workbench-amsat-phase-4b-ground-station-design/

They are planning a digital geosynchronous ham satellite that is 5ghz
up/10ghz down and working to design a ground station for it that they can
get commercially produced. Sounds like it will have some decent bandwidth.
Uplink will be channelized and repeated back on the downlink. You can
decode the entire downlink if you like.

This seems like it would be a great way to get remote digipeaters hooked up
to aprs-is or even to pass messages between digipeaters in an internet
outage type of situation.

I know it is a long way from being reality and the development is currently
on a lower level just wondering if there were any plans for aprs on it.
