Ask the question on the YAAC list.

If the iMac can run a JRE (Java Runtime Engine and needed library's) and
give you access to the outside world, it should be possible to run YAAC.

That works very well indeed, and is fully supported and still being
actively developed by Andy KA2DDO, who is reachable on that list, and
does reply.

Fairly sure he monitors this list too.
