[aprssig] New APRS Satellite to be deployed from ISS on 21 Aug (APRS)

Hi Andrew,
According to Google-indexed text, "BEACON EXPERIMENT: The unique experiment on QIKCOM-1 is its terrestrial beacon (only) over North America (one over Europe was also planned, but not implemented due to lack of consensus). Just like any mobile on the national APRS frequency, QIKCOM will beacon under the callsign of QIKCOM-11 when it is over the North American continent on the terrestrial APRS frequency of 144.39 to alert mobile APRS operators that the satellite is in view. It will know it is over the USA by monitoring the GPS signal from the Host spacecraft. The STATUS text will say "145.825MHz QSY 4 OPS " telling mobile operators that the spacecraft is in view and all they have to do is QSY to 145.825 to operate it during the next 5 minutes. In most new APRS radios, the QSY or TUNE button makes this a one-button operation"

'hope this is helpful.
