As Kenneth so eloquently put it, you need to stop asking the easy questions - like this one. But just one more time I will show you how I (and pretty much everyone else with a year or two of APRS experience) would answer this question for ourselves:
without the D74 plugged in, type
ls /dev
then plug in the D74 and repeat the ls /dev command. Compare the two lists, one or more new devices appear, and that is what you use. If there are more than one, try them all one at a time. That is much faster than waiting for someone to answer your inappropriate question.
Anyone that has used Linux as long as you should know that, or know how to search online for help with the /dev listing. Seriously, can you not understand that the real point of ham radio is the joy of figuring out how things work? I'm not sure why your joy seems to be asking inappropriate questions on the SIG, but many people here are tired of it. Learn to solve problems yourself or find a new hobby that doesn't require understanding complex subjects. I'd suggest quilting, but I really don't want to see weekly posts about what twenty year old quilting project you are attempting to replicate, and reading your questions about what we think are the best fabrics and threads.
