[aprssig] APRS on 10 Meters FM

PropNET started out as "AX.25-based APRS on 10 meters" (in fact, we called it PropNET.25!) and the results were spectacular.
Somewhere, I have a map animation of a day of activity that clearly showed propagation changes over 24 hours. I'll have to see if I can find it and post a link to it. Steve Dimse (K4HG) provided our first web-map!
Since then, we have moved to use PSK31 and host things ourselves ... HOWEVER we maintain the use of APRS protocols (we use the [GR##ID] format). Find us ~28.120 USB on PSK31 today.
Here's a link to the map of participants for the previous 24 hours: http://propnet.org/catch3.php?band=HY¢er=US&last=24&call=&maptype=G3&geo=&zoom=1Special note: We have built a "Robot" into our client. If you call one of our stations (and it decodes its callsign 1x and your callsign 2x with a "K" at the end) it will respond with a QSO!

If I recall correctly, in J-Pan (I am in Okinawa), the 10M band is used on FM, Packet, on 29.090Mhz, with a PL tone of 88.5Hz.Give a listen on there, set a transceiver for a "Channel", and let it scan that, I bet you'll here SOMETHING. WA4TKG/JA ex: 7J6CAT " The ONLY APRS Station in Japan " TM

Has anybody tried APRS packet on 10 meters FM? Either mobile or base
operation? It seems a good way to put otherwise unused equipment to
work during the long quiet spells and should gather some interesting
propagation information.
