[aprssig] Headset

I ran into this quite a few years ago.

A1: It depends on the headset.

A2: Older radios used carbon mics which were noise cancelling to minimize engine noise pickup. These had a "bias" supply in the radio that was basically a resistor to a supply. There are several ways to do this and the specifics could vary from radio to radio. Modern mics (some) have been designed to work with that supply and have an amplifier and noise cancelling mic element.

A3: There are units on the market that are designed to provice an interface between a headset, Aircraft radio and another device cuch as a music player. This may very well be an easy solution, will obviously cost, but should eliminate all the desigh consternation....
