[aprssig] qAR vs qAS gating

Hi all - qq
>From reading thru the APRS docs and following a few    insights therein, my understanding is that the right way to gate a 3rd party station is via qAR. A qAS is for self gating your statuon. Is this an accurate understanding

If that's so, wanted to brainstorm as we see a history of igates configured to gating 3rd party stations via qAS

Thoughts?
