This software update theory doesn't seem to hold much water with me.
It's pretty easy to check each APRS-IS server's software and version
on their port 14501 status page. Taking an arbitrary list of a dozen
IS servers from aprs2.net, I see less than half of them at the latest
version of aprsc. It's pretty far from realistic to think that just
because Hes tags a new version that it gets rolled out everywhere.

Can you bisect whatever this difference in behavior you're trying to
describe to being different between a server reporting aprsc v2.0.17
vs anything else? (my sampling included three other versions of aprsc
and a single javAPRSsvr)

You keep bringing this up year after year like the port 10152 full
feed doesn't exist.

There are times I want the full firehose for projects, and there are
times I want as little as possible to conserve bandwidth and
processing power on minimalistic systems. I'm really glad I can do
either.
