Dear All,
Greetings! My name is Linkesh Diwan, SA0BWI.
I'm working on a project for disaster communications. Basically, I want to
take advantage of the hardware in the Earl Tablet (see www.meetearl.com) to
run an Xastir-like disaster management suite on top of Android and APRS.
The idea for this has grown out of my experience of two large-scale natural
disasters.
It will be open source, and I plan to build a social company / cooperative
to provide enterprise-level support to organizations who want to use it.
In 2012, I was awarded the Young Innovator Fellowship from the ITU for
this. More recently, I received a small grant in Sweden to fund initial
development. MOST recently, I have launched it on RocketHub for crowd
funding. Please take a look, share, and fund! http://rkthb.co/54809
My problem has been finding an Android developer who can visualize and
understand the architecture of the program. I'm only a fledgling developer,
and have no real skills to speak of. When I started this project, I met
with the disaster communications coordinator in Vanuatu, who really liked
the idea... it really hurts that now, when they need it, this isn't ready!
I'm sure that people here will understand when I write that the data
structure inside the program must be tailored to take advantage of APRS. I
have worked out a simple and elegant way to do that, but won't bore people
here with the technical details (unless you are interested!)
Does anyone know a developer who I could work with on this? I am willing
to pay good money for a good developer!
Thanks, Love, Peace,
73's
