Great to see an update come out!  What is the status on implementing imperial/English units?  I am a paying user, but honestly without English units, I hate using it for anything more than just a station list or mapping.  Using the metric distances are useless for me (and I'm sure others). I am glad to announce that APRSdroid (APRS for Android) is now out in
version 1.3.0!

Short ChangeLog:

The most noticeable change is the use of (more) modern Android UI
elements. I'm still lagging one generation behind Google's UI redesigns,
but the app got action bars and new menus, making it possible to operate
it on Samsung's Galaxy S5 and other modern devices.

The most important (though absolutely unnoticeable) change is the
addition of an inter-app API. There were many requests to add features
to APRSdroid that go beyond the regular use cases. Instead of adding
more and more complex options to the app, I've opted to make it possible
for everybody to write their own applications. The API is designed to
cover at least the following use cases:

 * Handling of special APRS comms types (like displaying of bulletin
  boards, weather/telemetry, ...)
 * Additional user interaction (the example app APRSdroid Speaker will
  read out aloud positions and messages, other uses are possible)
 * Programmatically starting / stopping APRSdroid (e.g from Tasker)

It should also be flexible enough to do balloon chases, to make a
full-fledged mobile weather station (my CC2650 is ordered), or to
perform tasks I never have thought about.
