SignalLink USB is the easiest audio/digital interface.

I think eBay or Amazon should have CI-V to USB cable cheap. The standard Icom serial civ interface is about $120.

Do you have any recommended sites for this CI-V to USB cable? I really want to make it as easy on him as I can. He has been plunged into the world of digital and I just want him to have fun and not have to fight an uphill battle to get something to work.

The manual is kind of ambiguous and would like to know if anyone here has actually done this and what is required using Vista. I hope it can use a USB cable since his laptop has no serial port. However, maybe one of the USB/serial adapters might have to be used. I'd really appreciate any pointers and help. The info I've found so far is rather dated.
