I just used a bluetooth to serial module on the TNC in the radio van here for the bikeMS event last weekend... Also used a tom tom GPS via bluetooth for GPS data.. Running a bmodo12 tablet with aprsis32 ran both days great... Was nice handing the tablet from the front seat to the backseat staff to use in the van while driving. The T3/Maxtrac/Bluetooth was in the stow n go in the middle of the rental van.. I threw the tomtom on the dash... no issues with signal all weekend... Also had wifi from a cradlepoint which i mounted in the far back of the van.. Plus there was bluetooth from cell phones going on in the radio van as well... all worked great... I am going to add the bluetooth modules to a few more of the trackers for the other units... I found them on ebay.. paid 20bucks for them... BUT if you get something built in scott that would even help more..
I have a few android tablets but not sure on software for them... I need to have overlays for the different routes so that means using aprsis32 or the old uiview... Last year we moved to is32 as it's much easier to make overlays for.. We do 3 different MS150's here in the state of michigan plus a few marathons... Using mapmyride.com to make .gpx is a life saver...
