[aprssig] Kenwood APRS AX.25 packet passing

Interesting question. In APRS mode, the Kenwoods pass the messages in TNC command-mode format to the serial port (terminated by carriage return and line feed), so a binary non-APRS message might be really garbled (I haven't looked at the command-mode output of a TNC2 receiving non-APRS traffic in a while); I'll have to try that.

Subject: [aprssig] Kenwood APRS AX.25 packet passing

Hello,
When Kenwood APRS radios are in APRS mode, what happens to AX.25 that are nonAPRS pid with valid CRC? Does it drop them? Can it pass them to the serial port for further decode? Or does it have to be in nonAPRS TNC mode? I hope to keep the APRS mode still active while playing with alternative nets.
