[aprssig] APRS on the Icom 2820 Radio?

Has anyone gained lots of experience with a D710 APRS display head
connected to an ICOM-2820 dual band radio?



ICOM is donating a 2820 for the APRS station there, but I think it would
look great if we had a mobile configuration to show.   Has anyone done this
including the AVMAP GPS so that we end up with an all APRS mobile display
and GPS map all-in-one?



I have a D710, but not a 2820.  I know KB2M has at least hooked the two
together as shown on my web page:

But I’m not sure he included an AVMAP too.  Is the result of the three a
kludge or a real viable system worthy of display and  use at the Jamboree?
