[aprssig] Is an Igate working?

Depends on what you mean by working. Most IGates send a status message that looks like:

<IGATE,MSG_CNT=3,LOC_CNT=17

The local count is the number of RF stations for which the IGate will send messages, while the message count is the number of messages sent to RF. If local count > 0 then the IGate is hearing local data on its RF port. If message count > 0 then the IGate software is configured to be bidirectional. But that is about all you can say from the internet side.

Any more complete assessment of IGate function would depend on seeing the RF side of the transaction. Since the APRS-IS is designed to send only the payload and does not re-gate the internet messages and ACKs to the internet there is no way to see if any particular IGate is responsible for a successful internet to RF QSO.
