A minor correction.  With the latest firmware revision, the FTM-350 will 
output received APRS data, but based on feedback direct from Yaesu, 
cannot transmit from an external source using the internal TNC without 
hardware revisions.  The VX-8 is a totally closed system.

The Kenwood D72 and D710 both support access to and use of the internal 
TNC from the outside.
