I have not followed your details yet...

But if you simply generated an ISS object from some central location once a minute into the APRS-IS, then not just a message, but also the OBJECT couild also be accessible by anyone somewhat on demand from their mobile.

Say the object name was ISS-APRS, then if anyone anywhere sends a message to "ISS-APRS" then any nearby IGate that sees that message should automatically send back locally a "courtesy" posit for that object.

Of course there is no guarantee of delivery, since the IGate only generates that object once (and no more often than once every 30 minutes)...

but it is a possiblity. and it is how ALL IGates are supposed to work.
