In response to the messages on this topic, the EOSS balloon flights in
Colorado are not on 144.390 MHz. We use other frequencies for APRS, DF
beaconing, cut-down, etc. Also the balloons have APRS digipeaters so
that the balloon on the ground digipeats through the balloon still in
the air. There is an I-gate at the launch site, but not at the landing
site.

The I-gate owner has been contacted. He reports he uses a KPC-3+, but
not in KISS mode.

I do an analysis during and after the flights as described here,

http://www.wxqa.com/eoss.ppt

and an expanded version of this analysis covering EOSS159 and EOSS160 to
further study I-gate problems is contained here (look at the read_me
file first),

http://www.wxqa.com/eoss159160.Zip

It is very useful to look at the text files contained in this zip file
in notepad and compare them side by side as shown in the powerpoint
referenced above.

I receive this mailing list in digest mode and sometimes skim over
things and may not see a response or question. I can be contacted
direct at russ4cwop at gmail.com
