Just arrived from my Urgent Communications (land mobile trade news) newsletter:

Chasm exists between LightSquared, GPS sector over interference issues

The final report that LightSquared and the U.S. Global Positioning System
Industry Council (USGIC) will deliver today to the FCC will reveal that
_LightSquared’s proposed terrestrial LTE network in the L-band will cause
interference with GPS receivers,_ says a report today in the /Wall Street
Journal/.

What might be surprising is that the report is expected to reflect a huge gap
between LightSquared and the GPS community concerning whether a technical fix
to solve the interference issue is feasible. *Reportedly, the GPS community now
is saying that the FCC should move LightSquared to different spectrum as there
is no viable technical fix.*
