[aprssig] Looking for a 2010 or 2011 APRS user density map, or instructions on how to make my own

I am looking for a APRS user density map, something newer than the 2005 
maps on the web.  More specifically Iowa, and maybe Illinois or Nebraska. 
Or, instructions on how I can make my own.  I have a copy of dosAPRS 
somewhere, but I confess it is not my main client, so instructions on 
making my own map would be nice.
