Alan,

Thanks a big pile!   I knew someone must know how to do this!  You see, 
after a weather spotting incident last summer the XYL decided I should use 
APRS so she could keep track of me.   I'm finally getting around to doing 
something.   I do have a D-700 with Garmin and cables and have added a 
VX-8DR plus mike antenna unit and I have ordered the W2FS keyboard kit and a 
OpenTracker+ for converting my T-90A and I have Depiction and will get the 
Ham Radio software for that and not making any progress in getting this put 
together for such a goofy reason was a big load for me---we will ignore the 
XYL comments on my singular lack of success.....
