[aprssig] Hamfest and Local info THIS WEEKEND!

I use UIView from my home messaging IGate/digi to send an HFEST-18 object for our club's hamfest and I ALWAYS

set the spacing and character count to cater to the D700 / 710's 10,10,8 screen since I run one mobile.

(The underscores are intended to imply spaces for this example.)

TI_146.94_I57_X327_E_Peotone_KARSFEST_http://www.w9az.com

TI_146.94_
I57_X327_E
_Peotone
_KARSFEST_http://www.w9az.com

(57 Characters total)

The first three lines display on the D700/710 as

TI 146.94
I57 X327 E
 Peotone

The fourth line in addition to the first three seen by all the at

home UIView stations in the region to include the club web site URL info.

 KARSFEST_http://www.w9az.com

Afterall, the URL info is generally useless to the D700/710 user on the road only the first three

lines are of interest to the mobile op, the URL useful to the at home UIView ops with Internet acess.

Our club is blessed with some really nice tower sites that really helps the rf coverage from here

south of Chicago and well North into the city. KPC3+ tnc's.

W9AZ-1 at 300 feet and W9AZ-2 at 440 feet.

And to Bob WB4APR, I want you to know I changed the SSID's of the W9AZ super digi's over the weekend

from -14 and -15 to -1 and -2 after you posted your SSID suggestions,

makes total sense and I would like to see more of the northern IL super and fill-in digi's do the same.

73' all,

Clay Melhorn N9IO Bonfield, IL
