My VX-8GR beacons on the B side all the time. It will beacon independent of which side I have active.

Also, I recently got the FTM-350R and shortly after the VX-8GR. The FTM-350R is much more intuitive and self explanatory then the VX-8GR. Having worked my way through the mobiles menus sure made it a whole lot easier to understand the programming of it's portable family member. My only "problem" is remembering which function key combinations does what.

I find the GPS's in both Yaesu rigs to be slow to lock on after they have been off for several hours. If they have been turned off for a few minutes only they seem to catch on rather quickly.
