I can second that!

I just did a setup of Win 7 Ultimate solely to test UIview and APRSpoint
install issues, after the numerous complaints on the respective mailing
lists. Both went in with no problems, as long you are aware of the
"run as administrator" elevated privilege issues. I think it took me
all of 7 minutes to get MapPoint/APRSpoint up and running and about 15
minutes to get UIview, PMap Server 7 and Precision Mapping 8.0 going.

[I use ISO images of CD roms stored in my 160GB iPod Classic, mounted as
virtual CD/DVD-ROM drives with the freeware FileDISK ISO mounting
utility, to do these installs. It's far faster than running from
physical CDs and DVDs.]

One aggravation-saving work-around is to install these applications
OUTSIDE of the usual C:\Program Files\xxxx hierarchy. Vista/Win 7 are
very protective (can you say paranoid) about things that go into
/Program Files.

Instead, override the default install path for each program and install
into folders directly off the root; i.e. something like C:\UIview32 ,
C:\PrecisionMapping , and C:\APRSpoint respectively.
