California Near Space Project - High Altitude Attempt (K6RPT-14)


California Near Space Project (CNSP) is preparing to launch a high altitude balloon into the stratosphere on Monday August 30, 2010 at 5:00 a.m.

The launch will take place at 4954 Almaden Expressway - San Jose, CA  95118  (37.25945  -121.87479)

The weather balloon will be filled with a 137 cubic feet of helium to a diameter of 6.4 feet and will ascend around 730 feet per minute.  When the balloon reaches its maximum altitude it will expand to a diameter of 42 feet and then burst.
