Hi Jacob,
We looked at using Bluetooth GPS units via an Bluetooth to serial
adaptor with the APRS TNC Digi Tracker.
In the end we bypassed Bluetooth and fitted a SIRF III GPS module in the
unit itself. More details at

I totally agree with your comment about using APRS just on the internet.
More APRS over radio please...
