I know what you are trying :o) and it was more to show that the 710 can display other characters.

The radio does not get crazy when receiving them.(æøå)

So then software/igates could probably reformat messages so that the radio is displaying it correct.

I did some more tests and there are characters breaking the TM-D710 display. Seems to be a memory problem as data not supposed to be in the view magically has been displayed as a message sendt to a "GROUP".

I don't have time this week to verify if this happened because of my software sending incorrectly or if there was a special character doing this hick-up on TM-D710

Maybe we could try to map what chars the 710 do display without a hick-up when the UTF-8 discussion regarding APRS is done :o)
