Hello all,

I am reading today's discussions with great interest. Many very important points have been raised. For the past several months I have been trying to decide on my mobile APRS rig. I was strongly considering a commercial APRS radio. Today I have decided 100% the best solution for me will be to use a PC with a touchscreen running Xastir. I would like to use the soundcard for the TNC. This decision is based on the desire to keep everything defined by software so the rig can change as the next generation APRS technology evolves.

I am now trying to decide on the radio. I would like to run 9600 baud or better. Can anyone suggest s few radios to consider for the project?

This next question may get a few chuckles but, I have to ask it anyways. In the spirit of the move to digital TV, Are there any digital radios for amateurs?
