In West Texas I've been experimenting with 9600 baud APRS on 446.150 MHz. The higher frequencies at this side of the 70-centimeter band usually provide better SWR on VHF/UHF dual-band antennas, than the lower 440 MHz side. I suppose that in some places there could be some repeater control links, but that is rare. Most of those are at 433 - 435 MHz.
