Mine is installed right behind the steering wheel so I can actually push the buttons while keeping both hands on the wheel (and driving straight)...  Photo about 20% down this page:

Not your model vehicle, but worked on mine...  I just made a clip on a block of wood and wedged that between the tilting sterring wheel asssembly and dash and then pushed it up to hold it solid.
