  Andrew:

Do you have any good web links that explain Mode S/ADS-B, the tech specs, formats etc?

What kind of reciever are you using.

  Thanks

There are heaps of cheap video tx modules around.

Is there any reason why they can't be PulsePositionModulated ?

    Should be enough bandwidth

I have been looking closely at MODE S aircraft signals - 1 MB at 8MHz bandwidth

Sounds like a click. Sends position

Also been looking at AIS - 9600 self organising GMSK.

Maybe good ole 1200 baud will be a round for a while.

I have been using radio modules - 19k2 on air - 100 mW beef up to 30 watts.
