There are two rule sets for the Universal Amateur Radio Text
Messaging System:

ANYTHING-to-EMAIL account:

For Email re-direciton, there is no limit, since it is no
difference from current reflectors such as WB4APR at amsat.org or
WB4APR at arrl.org. SO if it is going TO an email address, there
does not need to be any filters other than some SPAM filters.

ANYTHING-to-RF:

> I think a character count should be also be developed.

! Yes. The APRS spec defines the longest
! message line to be 67 bytes, though the
! D700 I think maxes out at 64. So I would
! suggest a max of 64 for this application.?

> We don't want people sending 30 line
> email messages over APRS.

! The spec allows for 11 full lines when
! NTS formatted traffic is sent. But if it
! Is not NTS, then

> * User specifies what e-mail addresses
> can send him mail.

! Maybe, but that should be an opt-out option

> * Authorized users need to enter a "password"
> in the subject line for each message.

! Maybe, but if a ham cannot send another
! ham a text message without any apriori
! knowledge, then we are sort of
! shooting ourselves in the foot.

> REJECT ANY HTML email

! Ok with me!
