I suspect we all agree that it is potentially confusing.  What we
disagree on is what to do about it.

I propose that we "smarten up" the client software to help in this
regard when creating the Objects (by warning the operator), but not
so much as to prevent it from occurring.

Any such Objects received over the air or INET should preserve
embedded characters as received.
