Most of the new digis going up around here use the Argent Data Systems
Tracker2 (http://www.argentdata.com/products/tracker2.html). It's dead
simple to configure as a WIDEn-N and SSn-N digipeater and is also
capable of fancier stuff if you need it (weather, KISS, remote
control).

There is an active mailing list if you have questions,
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/tracker2. Argent Data also has great
customer service, when needed.

The Tracker2 is also available integrated into a data radio:

(an easy alternative to an FT-1802, but lower power)
