The D710, like the earlier D700 and TH-D7 requires standard NMEA ASCII 
data at 4800 baud through a serial port. 

Like other hardware APRS devices such as TinyTraks, Opentrackers, KPC3+ 
TNCs, etc., it *WILL NOT work with USB devices*.
