The Escape uses the Toyota Hybrid Synergy Drive drivetrain used on the
Prius and Camry. I suspect it will have the same severe broadband white
noise problem due to very heavy currrent flows through semiconductors
(i.e. diode noise generator). In my 2006 Prius, I had S9 broadband
noise level on HF +6M, about 1 S-unit desense on 2 meters and negligible
on UHF.
