[aprssig] Need Path Mentoring

Man! Every time I think I get paths and try
looking, I realize I have far exceeded the half-life
of the knowledge. I also understand that the new
paradigm and reality arent necessarily equal which
can cause confusion as well.
Looking in the menu, I verify that my D700 is set
for WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1, which I believe is supported
by:
K9DCI-9>TRRW0S,WIDE1-1,WIDE2-1,qAR,N9OIG:'t(Fl!h>/]"6]}
Meaning that: IGate N9IOG heard me directly and shot
me into the APRS-IS, right? _____
Yet, the other day, I was watching the Packet
Monitor and I saw WIDE3
associated with some of my
packets. And, lo-and-behold, therere popping out on
the net as well (shown below they seem to prefer
appearing in pairs).
I cant get this to fit what I thought the paradigm
is.
So, what are possible interpretations?
1- My D700 needs its sinuses cleared?
2- Seeing WIDE3-3 in the first slot suggests a Digi is
substituting WIDE3-3 for my WIDE1-1 since there
are digi calls after it? Eh?
Excerpts from Raw data:
K9DCI-9>TRRW0P,WIDE3-3,K9ESV-3,WIDE2*,qAR,N9OIG:'t(Zn4d>/]"6[}
K9DCI-9>TRRW0S,WIDE3-3,K9ABC-10*,WIDE2,qAo,N9QBW:'t(Fl!h>/]"6_}
K9DCI-9>TRRW0S,WIDE3-3,WX9MKX,WIDE2*,qAo,N9QIP:'t(Fl!h>/]"6`}
K9DCI-9>TRRW0S,WIDE3-3,K9ABC-10*,WIDE2,qAo,N9QIP:'t(Fl!h>/]"6a}
K9DCI-9>TRRW0P,WIDE3-3,K9ESV-3,WIDE2*,qAo,W9TMW:'t(Zn4d>/]"6[}
K9DCI-9>TRRW0S,WIDE3-3,WA9CJN-15*,WIDE2,qAo,W9TMW:'t(Fl!h>/]"6]}
K9DCI-9>TRRW0S,WIDE3-3*,K8BRC*,WIDE2*,qAo,N8FQ:'t(El-Q>/]
K9DCI-9>TRRW0T,WIDE3-3*,K8BRC*,WIDE2*,qAo,N8FQ:'t(EliW>/]"6[}
K9DCI-9>TRRW0S,WIDE3-3,K9ESV-3,WIDE2*,qAo,W9TMW:'t(El-Q>/]
K9DCI-9>TRRW0T,WIDE3-3,K9ESV-3,WIDE2*,qAo,W9TMW:'t(EliW>/]"6[}
Note that in these examples, there are actual call
signs with the * appended. Is that part of The
New?? or a mix of new and old. I thought the old
was to accept it and append the *, but new is only
to substitute but remember that half-life effect.
(:-).
Then come the other path questions.
Seeing this:
K9DCI-9>TRRV2Q,K9ESV-3,WIDE1*,WIDE2-1,qAR,N9OIG:'t+O
Hu>/]"6X}
Does this say that K9ESV-3 is accepting the WIDE1-1?
Also, rather than substituting, is it *inserting* its
call and putting the * after the WIDE1 part of the
WIDE1-1 ???
I guess Ill stop here. This appears to be a mixing
of call sign substitution and the old paradigm
something that is not entirely out of the question.
The fella doing K9ESV, while a nice guy trying to do
it correctly, has expressed doubt and asked me (yea,
right) to look at his parameters.
