Yes, when on transmitter hunting missions, to DF and then help eliminate
those stations still set with the obsolete RELAY alias (which unfortunately
don't ID themselves while responding to RELAY), occasionally it can be
helpful to deliberately cause an obsolete-style transmission simply to speed
up "getting a fix on that fox".

Still got a "non-traceable" alias, either WIDEn-N without "callsign
insertion" or the obsolete generic aliases (RELAY/WIDE/TRACE)?  Then watch
out, they're still out there looking to help you help your fellow VHF
network users.
