Thanks to all for the good info - I got the msg this morning as I was
leaving for work and did not have a chance to reply.

I'm not using any software - yet.  I'm viewing webpage
http://aprs.he.fi/?addr=36605 (also findu.com)- there if you do a
search for KB4HAH-7 you will see his green star with white center.
There are other stations with only a green star.  I had mentioned a
green star with yellow center and a "D" inside.  I was confused (stay
that way) - that did not come from a webpage, but from the pdf file I
had downloaded a few days ago and it's a green star with a WHITE
center and a *D* inside.

Bob mentioned that *1* and *S* are the only *normal* characters that
should be inside the green star for a digi - How about an Igate - do
they have a special symbol?  Up in central MS I saw a black star with
a big *G* inside - was that an Igate?

Also, There is a KF6VPM-4 station with a yellow TCPIP symbol - does
that mean he's an Igate?  OR what?

Could someone explain a bit more about the *S* parameter pertaining to
*Flooding* - seems like I read something that said this would prevent
an out of state digi from repeating the packet.  Boy, here in Mobile,
AL we'd be in trouble - most of my Igates are either in Fla or MS..

I just wish to say again THANK YOU to all the folks who spend so much
time and effort on APRS making it possible for the rest of us to use.
