Once again, the smugness and pedantics.  I live in the United States.  We 
use Websterian English. Isn't it odd that people who purport to be modern 
in their use of measurement hold on to middle-age non-phonetic 
spelling?  Litre is Old French.   Come join the 21st century.    Johnsonian 
English is so 1755.
