I don'æt know for sure, but that's my impression.

Some will open with a 1750 tone burst, but alternatively with a
subtone without having to use 1750.
Also, some cross-band repeaters will run only on subtone.

In beacons from digis, 1750 repeaters have or haven't a comment where
1750 is written, and subtone digis might or mightn't have a Txxx
comment.
There probably are only a few digis sending beacons with repeater
information. The majority of users aren't APRS users anyway...
