software to a Kenwood HT-D7AG and a Garmin eMap I am having problems
figuring out how to wire it all together .
I have a Palm Treo 650 I found this picture and this Operator I
can't find Michael Musick N0QBF to ask him how he did his

First of all, Mike has abandoned PocketAPRS. There will be no more
versions, he cannot release the sources due to some of the software
in there requiring licensing, he won't register any copies anymore,
etc. Basically he wishes to be left alone w.r.t. that application
these days.

The good news: You _can_ still find copies of it out there and use
it in unregistered mode, which means you cannot save your settings
and have to enter them each time.

More good news (maybe): There's yet another PalmOS APRS application
out there that is open-source, free for the download. It's called
SmartPalm. It does _not_ do mapping. It's a text-based application
that attempts to basically do a HamHUD, but on a Palm.

The general way you'd use either application with a TH-D7 would be
to connect the GPS to the Kenwood, then the Kenwood to the Palm.
Set up the software to do the "Picopacket" method of requesting the
GPS data from the Kenwood. That ends up sending a Control-E
character across the line, to which the Kenwood responds by sending
back the NMEA string(s).
