Bob,
My HP-Compaq NX-5000 has both a 9 pin serial and 25-pin parallel port - I 
purchased it around 18 months ago. It's not an expensive or particularly 
rugged unit but it does what I need...

I believe that at least some of the current NX-series still have serial ports.
