[aprssig] Helix Groundplane?

Today I put my helix on the sitemaster and found it either needs a matching
plate on the first 1/2 turn or the 74 ohm matching section.

I was surprised. The VSWR has bad, but the signal improvement is brilliant.

Can't wait to make it properley

The "groundplane" on a helix serves two major functions: impedence matching
and F/B ratio (as a shield to RF from behind).
