Yep, 1/2 wave works MUCH better on a bike - motorcycle or bicycle.
I've played around with 1/4 wave antennas on my Goldwing motorcycle
and found the hassle of radials just were not worth the effort. MUCH
easier for a simple !/2 wave with no ground plane requirements.
