Brief follow up to this post. The AR system is now bi-'ACK'nowled'able... (Is that even a word???)....

The system will ack the message from the requesting station.. However, it is basically a fire & forget from the DEPOT side when it sends the response. It doesn't request an ack from the original requesting station when it sends the response. I looked through the logs and noticed that it sent an ack to you three times (and a response to your query three times too). Interesting you didn't get the ack though so that your station would stop sending. I will have to get some more testing done. Maybe it a THD-7 thing?? If some others running THD-7's could try and let me know (On the site preferrably so that we don't clog up this list, but here if you must...).

Thanks.
Eric

Very nice, works well. Some feature I would propose for the system is
sending also ack. I've got nearest EchoLink after my msg sent from TH-D7 and
msg was sent again few more times because there was no ack.

Figured this new utility I wrote for APRS would be of interest to those that
use IRLP. Works great on the D700 while mobile!

Today I launched a new function to the APRS Depot (www.aprsdepot.com) AR
project that relates to IRLP. Thought everyone would find it interesting...
Send a message to 'APRSDEPOT' with the word 'IRLP'... Find out where the
nearest node is based on your last known APRS location..

Details of the service and other AR functions can be found at
