The airmail program is an Email Client (like Outlook or Thunderbird), an
Email Transfer Agent Client (connects to POP and SMTP servers), an Email
Server (handles POP and SMTP connections) and an interface (roughly a BBS
- server and client capabilities) to amateur radio modes such as the SCS
Pactor TNC's, generic pactor devices or legacy Packet.

Think of a version of JNOS compiled with a Windows GUI.

EVERYBODY WITH AN INTEREST IN DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS, EMERGENCY OR
OTHERWISE, SHOULD BE FAMILIAR WITH airmail2000.. It's a great program!

There is open source software that should work with the SCS devices that's
been available for 15+ years. That's all on the far too long to-do and
to-try it list. (I'm expecting a 10 to 25% improvement in throughput too
but I won't mention that until I've had a chance to test it... :-) )
