I guess the problem around here is that VA stands
for Virginia, and so those who dont know abouit
Voice Alert will just interpret it that way... 
And actually, isnt your D700 acting as a Tn
instead of a T1?

I've been using "T1 W1 VA" on my D700 status.  VA is almost as clear as "V
- Alert" and takes a bit less room.

PS.  T1 since I'm using TEMP1-1 in the UIDIGI as I haven't got to hooking
up a PC yet to reprogram the TNC and become a Tn.  I'm also running as a
mobile WIDE1-1 fill in just cuz things are so quiet and once in a while it
actually catches a packet that the main local digi misses.
