Last time I looked at a Deluo, it drew a lot more
power than the GPS-18.  Thanks, Ill have a new look...

Why use the GPS-18 for the buoy at all? Use the Deluo GPS that N1VG  
sells on the OpenTracker website, it needs under 25 ma at 5 volts.  
Its only restriction is use above 65,000 feet, which for your buoy is  
not a consideration. ... and at $58, its a lot cheaper than a GPS-18.  
I have been using two of them here on my wife's wagon and my truck  
for awhile now with no problems at all.
